I really thought we would get out to the house more. My wife doing a degree has killed a lot of a free time.
Still, got to go out on my own in may and progess some things like getting the back bedroom up to scratch.
Managed to get some french style sturdy beds from ikea in dijon of all place.... and forgot to buy the bases. Dowp, got them in england so no worries.
Were going to incorporate 3 old double glazed glass panels into the stairwell ceiling (nicely) so when we have velux in the roof, the light will come into the stairwell.... which, when we remove the wall separating it from the lounge, will bring much needed additional light. Clever wife.
Its gonna look great...... one day. But as a local brit said when i asked if he had finished his hous 'finished? what do i want to finish for? the main bit if fun is having it as an ongoing project.' good answer.
I LOVE being there is such a blast and so very different. I got up early to go to dijon about 6o miles away, too early infact so waited to miss the works traffic........... WHAT WORK TRAFFIC! This is france, i passed about 5 cars all the way! My sat navs quickest or shortest settings..... seem the same to me, both took me down back roads through woods on rubble paths where i thought i might never return, but great fun.
